All of our yurts are available as a DIY package. Our DIY package gives you the opportunity to be truly hands on with your yurt. Using our detailed step-by-step instructions we will guide you in painting and assembling your yurts wooden frame. All that is required are some basic DIY skills and approxiamately 25 - 30 hours of free time. Not only is finishing your yurt a very rewarding experience but there are also great savings to be made compared to our standard yurt prices.
All fabric layers on your yurt come complete and ready for use. Each fabric layer will only require unpacking prior to installation on your yurt

Wooden Frame
An instruction booklet comes with all DIY yurts. This fully illustrated guide gives step-by-step instructions through every process involved in finishing your yurts wooden frame. It explains the features of each part of your yurt frame, how to select the best paint for your yurt and the best method of painting each part.. Finally a section on assembling each part where required. We are confident that anyone with basic DIY skills should be able to take on this project. If in doubt please speak with us for a more detail.
What you will need to do
Wall trellis: 4 -6 pieces based on yurt size
Come pre-treated with a natural oil based wood preservative and require no additional work prior to first use.
Roof poles: 54 - 78 depending on yurt size
Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. To assemble a small horsehair rope with need to be threaded into the end of each roof pole and tied off.
Crown Wheel: 1 piece
Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. To assemble you will need to screw in four O rings around edge of crown wheel
Crown Wheel Supports: 2 pieces
Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. No assembly required for this item.
Door & Frame: 1 piece
Treat with a good quality wood preservative and then paint or varnish in colour of your choice. To assemble you will need to install seven O rings in the door frame, screw hinges onto door and hang door in it's frame,. Wooden beading re-install around pre-cut Lexan windows to hold in place.
